Stone Care Experts Strike Gold in Grocery Store Market

SAN DIEGO – Apr. 3, 2008 – With a 20 percent increase in households with natural-stone surfaces expected each year for the next three to five years, chemical companies continually launch new products designed to care for them.

Amid the increasingly stiff competition, Granite Gold is showing there is no substitute for experience — being named the top selling stone-care product in the U.S grocery store market, according to the most recent survey from Information Resources Inc. Granite Gold has enjoyed rapid expansion and popularity with consumers since its introduction by stone-care experts Lenny Pellegrino and Lenny Sciarrino in 2003. The cousins launched Granite Gold after each spent more that 15 years in the natural stone installation and repair business, hearing constant requests from their customers for a safe, effective solution for the daily care of their stone surfaces.

Information Resources Inc. is responsible for tracking consumer packaged goods carried by a variety of retailers, including stone-care products. Its careful analysis of data collected from grocery chains across the country determined Granite Gold is the clear favorite with consumers shopping for a safe, easy-to-use natural stone-care system.

As of 2006, the U.S. stone industry net worth was $6.8 billion, and natural stone is expected to account for 43 percent of the countertop market by 2009. The stone industry saw an increase of 54 percent from 2005 to 2006.

In response to the surge in natural stone sales, many of America’s biggest names in home cleaning products have launched products specifically for porous, stone surfaces. However, due to Granite Gold’s superior performance — ensured by Sciarrino and Pellegrino’s natural-stone expertise — it has remained a favorite among consumers, and has more than doubled its distribution to include more than 4,000 locations over much of the West, Southwest and Midwestern U.S. in just the past two years.

“Granite Gold has come a long way since its initial launch five years ago,” said the Granite Gold President and CEO Sciarrino “Being recognized as the top-selling grocery brand means we’re delivering on our promise to provide the best possible care of our consumers’ natural-stone.”

The Granite Gold stone care system, which includes granite cleaners and a variety of products for all other natural stone surfaces, is specially formulated and developed by stone care professionals with more than 40 years of experience in the natural stone industry. The products are designed for use on granite, marble and all other natural stone surfaces. They are also effective when used on natural quartz surfaces and can be safely used on ceramic or porcelain tile and grout. This unique product line, which contains the highest grade of quality ingredients, is user-friendly, non-toxic and safe for the environment. For more information, visit or call 800/475-7866.
