How do I remove cloudy toothpaste stains from my natural stone bathroom countertop?
Toothpaste stains on granite can be removed by taking a paper towel or cotton balls or white terry cloth towels soaked in liquid bleach (any brand) and placing on the stained area. Allow to sit for 24 hours and rinse with water. Repeat if necessary. You may spray bleach on stained areas and scrub with a soft nylon brush then rinse with water. Bleach does not harm natural stone as long as it is rinsed each time and sealed/maintained properly (acids harm stone). Toothpaste on softer stones such as marble, limestone, or travertine can etch the surface, which will need to be professionally resurfaced.
